My Story
Personal trainer for 20 years.

Highly experienced coordinating with Physiotherapists & Osteopaths in rehabilitation including post operation for clients.
Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with 7 years experience and 4 1/2 years experience of Krav Maga.
Experienced in circus skills, Ido Portal & callisthenics.
Intermediate level climber/boulderer.
Former competitive natural (steroid free) bodybuilder.
In my 20 years as a Personal Trainer, I’ve committed thousands of hours towards studying all aspects of health, exercise, coaching and nutrition. I continually strive to improve the service that I deliver.
I genuinely care about my clients, and you will find me actively engaged throughout our sessions. My mantra is to deliver the level of service I would expect. I strive to exceed expectations with the service that I deliver.
Contrary to what you may see with some personal trainer stereotypes, there will be no idle texting, leading against the wall looking bored or browsing social media (or worse themselves in the mirror!?) during our sessions. I find this behavior completely unacceptable & unprofessional.
As a testament to this, a number of my long-term clients have worked with me for many years, some for over a decade!
I’ve worked with people from all walks of life and ages. Primarily, I work with busy professionals, 25-70 years old from industries such as Tech, Law, Finance and Medicine. In addition, I have a lot of experience cooperating with Physiotherapists & Osteopaths to facilitate rehabilitation from injuries.
I understand that stepping into a gym is often intimidating and confusing, especially for a beginner. My goal is to deliver safe and effective personal training.
——-
I come from a family who are mostly obese and in poor health. My father died at the age of 63 from a heart attack when I was 14. His health conditions can largely be attributed to his lifestyle.
I was active as a child of the 80s but never athletically gifted and never picked in preference for a sports team. As a teenager I became sedentary and became overweight myself.
I’ve always had to work very hard and smartly to make progress with my own physical pursuits. Nothing has come easily to me. I’m certainly not what you’d call physically gifted. I feel this better equips me to relate to the average clients' needs and their starting point.
At every gym I have worked at I have quickly gained a strong reputation for my professionalism and ability to deliver results.
I previously worked as a Senior Trainer at Ultimate Performance London City for 4 1/2 years, quickly gaining a reputation for my clients' transformation successes, including being the head of the online training department.
Previous to this, I worked at Fitness First, Fitness Exchange, Virgin Active & Holmes Place.
Trying to fix some old injuries led me initially to go to see a Feldenkrais Method Practitioner and ultimately commit 4 years to studying the Method to become a Practioner myself. I use many elements of Awareness Through Movement Lessons and Functional Integration to enhance the results of the people I work with.
I have attended courses with Charles Poliquin, Ido Portal, Dr Andreo Spina of Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Gary Ward of Anatomy in Motion (AiM) and various handstand masters.
I studied for two terms at the National Centre of Circus Arts learning handstands, tumbling and acro-balance.
I currently compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a Purple Belt, regularly do bouldering, have previous experience competing in natural bodybuilding to a competitive national level and have practiced Yoga for a decade. I have also run several 5 & 10k races.
I approach my own exercise as an ongoing journey of discovery about learning how to make the body work more efficiently and effectively. I learn keen insights from these hobbies that further improve how I help my clients.
My ethos is to find exercise that you enjoy and can incorporate into a lifestyle in a fun and sustainable way. The gym should help enhance your experience of life and should not be the sole focus of it.
There are few people in the fitness industry who have as much experience of coaching and even fewer who really practice what they preach to the degree that I do.
Whether your goal is Fat Loss, Muscle Gain, Improved Flexibility, Better Health or Sports Specific, I will be able to help to optimize your efforts in the gym.
